Where to park, where to park, where to park!

San Jose State University is largely a commuter campus. Tens of thousands of vehicles come to this university each week, which makes parking a challenge. Allow yourself extra time to secure parking.

The Seventh Street Garage is a five story parking structure located on the corner of Seventh and San Salvador Streets. The Tenth Street Garage is a five story parking structure as well and is located at the corner of Tenth and San Fernando Streets.

These are the only campus parking facilities where non-permit holding visitors and students can purchase an $8.00 for a day permit, $4.00 for a 2-hour permit and $2.00 for a 1-hour permit. The pay stations are on the 3rd Floor and above in both of the garages and they take nickels, dimes, quarters, silver/gold dollar coins, ones, fives and tens and they will give change now.

Please note that there is no elevator in the Seventh Street Garage. Disabled parking is available on the lower level of the garage. A permit must be purchased, as state disabled placards are not recognized on campus.

There are nearly 970 spaces located in the South Campus Park & Ride Lot. The cost of parking is $4.00 a day and includes a shuttle program that runs during the regular school year. Three new full-size buses shuttle students between the main campus and the Park & Ride Lot every 15 minutes from 6:15 am - 3:30 pm, and every 20 minutes from 3:30pm - 9:45 pm Monday - Thursday and no shuttles are available on Friday.
