Maximize Your Recruitment Efforts

The best way to attract exceptional SJSU candidates is to offer anexceptional internship opportunity.  It is a win-win situation. The employer gets a first glimpse of the next generation of talent and students gain critical “real world” experience and networking opportunities.

Develop Exceptional Internship Descriptions

Quality and exceptional Internship descriptions should include the following:

  1. Describe your company and the work environment.
  2. The benefits of working for your organization.
  3. Qualifications and the kind of candidates who excel in your environment.
  4. Provide the project description and job duties; the more details the better. Most internship projects have a "start to finish" and a resulting product (a report, paper, or presentation for example).
  5. Include learning objectives and outcomes (what the intern will learn).
  6. Information about training, professional development and industry exposure.
  7. Provide information regarding supervision and/or mentorship.

Non-exceptional descriptions could result in fewer qualified candidates and less interest in the opportunity. Your organization benefits by developing a quality opportunity that will attract the best and the brightest.
