On-Campus Interviews (OCR)
This service is currently only being offered to our Career Center Sponsors.

The On-Campus Interview (OCR) Program enables you to interview a group of qualified SJSU students in an efficient manner, while, at the same time, promoting your organization on the SJSU campus. The Career Center provides the interview facilities, advertises your job listings and assists you in setting up a schedule of interviews according to your specifications. SJSU uses a state of -the-art web-based interview scheduling system to make the process fast and efficient. The On-Campus Recruiting Program (OCR) is integrated into our SpartaSystem/SpartaJOBS System.

All schedules will be Pre-select. A Pre-select schedules allows you to pre-screen students for your interviews. All candidates will view your OCR openings on SpartaJOBS and be asked to attend Expo 2007 which will allow a face-to-face interaction.

On-Campus Interview Dates: March 13, 2007 – April 12, 2007. (No interviews are scheduled during Spring Break – March 26 – March 30)

Schedule your Spring 2007 On-Campus Interviews (this will take employers to another page with instructions on how to schedule their interviews)

Scheduling On-Campus Interviews:
In order to schedule interviews, you must first register for Expo 2007.

  2. Click on the Employers tab at the top of the page
  3. Click on Registered User and type in your Username and Password
  4. Click on the OCR button at the top of your screen, then click on Request a Schedule

OR

Go to Quick Links on the Employer Home Page and click on Create New Schedule Request.

  1. Complete the Schedule Request Form. Your request will be reviewed by Career Center staff. Once both the schedule is approved and your interview room is reserved, you will receive an email confirmation of your interview date.
  2. After you receive your email confirmation, log back in and post your openings. Company information, job descriptions, resume submissions, and interview schedule are all self-managed through our on-line program.

If you need assistance with scheduling your On-Campus Interview, please contact Sandra Robles at Sandra.Robles@sjsu.edu or call (408) 924-6016.

“Room Reservation Only” Option
The “Room Reservation Only” option is useful for an employer who prefers to take an active approach in filling their schedule at Expo 2007 . This option does not include the on-line scheduling process.

Interview Schedules
The typical interview schedule, unless otherwise arranged, begins at 9:00 a.m. and concludes at 4:45 p.m., allowing for twelve 30-minute interviews with morning, lunch and afternoon breaks. You may also request 45 minute interviews or 1 hour interviews. The schedule will be finalized with the names and resumes of students you will be interviewing approximately two working days before the interviews.

The only type of schedules that are available will be Pre-select schedules. These are limited to students who have attended Expo 2007 and have submitted their 3 resumes on-line and met the job listing requirements. These students can be pre-selected for an interview by the employer. It is the responsibility of the Employer to:

  • Notify all students they wish to interview on-campus, and
  • Request that they sign-up for interview times by the designated deadlines. Students are informed that pre-selection by an employer does not guarantee an interview time if the student fails to meet the sign-up deadline.

Cancellation Policies
It is the employer's responsibility to honor scheduled interviews once students have been selected. If an emergency forces a last-minute cancellation or a need for rescheduling, employers should contact Sandra Robles at Sandra.Robles@sjsu.edu or call (408) 924-6016. It is the employer’s responsibility to contact the affected students.
