Career Path

Heading off to the world of work?

  • "Starting the Job Hunt" will walk you through the process of finding that first professional job with links to all the resources you will need.
  • "What Can I Do With My Major?" is a great resource if you are undecided on what career path you want to take.

Take advantage of the Employer Connections program:
Job fairs are just one of the Career Center's ways of getting you in contact with employers through Employer Connections.

The Employer Connections Program presents several events that will put you face-to-face with hiring employers. The events are excellent opportunities for you to network and showcase your skills and talents. Often they result in interviews at the employer's site and, ultimately, job offers!

Each year over 400 employers visit the campus to recruit graduating students for entry-level career positions.

Important Tip: A list of participating employers is available on our website. Reviewing it prior to the fairs will help you promote your skills and experience well to employers.

e-Resume Referral Service will increase your visibility with a large number of employers who request resumes to fill immediate openings in their organizations. When you place your resume on line with the Career Center, it will be transmitted to these employers who may invite you to interview with them. In this way, the Career Center works behind the scenes to promote YOU.

e-Notification Service
You will receive periodic e-mail notifications of upcoming events related to your major as well hot job opportunities listed in our On-Line Job Bank. In addition, Career Center Consultants will be sending job hunting tips, trends, and other pertinent information regarding the current job market.

Eligibility
For Spring Activities:
You are eligible if you are completing your degree by December 2004.
To participate in this program, get on-line with the Career Center.
  • Complete or update your Online User Profile.
  • Upload a critiqued copy of your resume to participate in our e-Resume Referral Service.

Employer Events
Employer Presentations are informal, informational events that give you a chance to meet with representatives and to learn about specific career opportunities within their organizations. We strongly encourage you to attend these sessions and to bring a resume and well researched questions.

Don't miss a great opportunity to practice your networking skills or to land a potential interview! Check our calendar often to see who will be on campus next.

Job Search Strategy Workshop
Employers have expressed the importance of being prepared, particularly in a competitive job market.

To gain insights on how to effectively market yourself at our job fairs and how to maximize your success in the job search, attend a Job Search Strategies Workshop. See our calendar for workshop dates and times.

Added bonus receive your Career Fair Express Pass for early admittance to our job fair by attending one of these sessions.
