Search Tips
The Professional Network is easy to use. You
may search by major, career field, or industry to find the right person
to talk to. Try searching several different ways or broadening your search--don't
limit yourself!
Examples
- If you are majoring in engineering, math or computer
science, it may seem logical to contact people who also majored
in these areas. However, you may want to try searching by the "search
by industry" only to find people working in various fields connected
to these majors.
- If you are looking for a career in advertising,
try looking up people who majored in advertising, communication studies
or marketing.
- If you are majoring in the arts, and not sure
what to do with your degree, try looking for people who majored in various
disciplines like English, humanities, art, philosophy or foreign languages
for different ideas.
- If you are interested in a career in business,
try searching by those who majored in this field; then, try looking
for those working in various aspects of business. You may also want
to search for people who majored in areas such as communication studies,
English, or social science. They may be working in interesting areas
of business now.
